Snuffy is about to go to his first day of school, but he is scared that he hides. Jay Jay, Tracy and Herky have to search all over town to try and find him, and Snuffy is later visited by Old Oscar, who tells him that he was afraid of his first day of school, too.
Plot[]
One morning, Snuffy is flying through the air when he is greeted by Jay Jay and Tracy, the latter telling him if he is ready for his first day of school the next day. Snuffy is shocked when he hears this, and Jay Jay wonders why. He tells Snuffy he'll be attending the Michael O. Tarry School, where he and Tracy went when they were Snuffy's age. Snuffy is scared, and Tracy informs him that lots of kids get scared on their first day. Snuffy is a lot scared and begins panicking over what will happen. Jay Jay stops him and Tracy says that school is fun and the teacher and students will help him with the stuff he doesn't know, and the jet planes sing a rousing song about it. After that, they say there's nothing to be afraid about and all he needs is a good night's sleep so he's ready. Reluctantly, Snuffy agrees.
However, that evening while the others are asleep, Snuffy is still scared about the first day of school. He then gets an idea of what to do that next morning, and he goes to sleep.
The next morning, Jay Jay and Tracy wake Snuffy up for school, only to find him gone. The gang starts to look for Snuffy. Meanwhile, Snuffy hides in Lightning Bug Lake hoping to go there everyday until school ends.
Later, Jay Jay, Herky, and Tracy explain the situation to Old Oscar who knows where Snuffy is.
At Lightning Bug Lake, Old Oscar finds Snuffy as he is surprise that he appeared. Up in the sky, Oscar tells Snuffy a story about a little plane (which was him) who hid from his first day of school.
Back at Tarrytown Airport, Snuffy is ready to go to school after Oscar tells him his story.
At school, Snuffy discovers that Oscar was his teacher and found out that learning is fun and exciting, ending the episode.
